Have art kit, will travel

Last Christmas as I prepared to visit family out of town for a week, it dawned on me that without my art supplies handy during the trip I may suffer acute withdrawal symptoms!  I put together a travel art kit with my essentials to create art on-the-go. It served me well and kept me feeling fulfilled.

The kit includes a 2.5″ x 3.5″ moleskine style art journal, fine tip ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil, eraser, small scissor, fineliner art pens, brass stencils, watercolor pencils, water brush and glue stick all housed in a zippered pencil pouch.  I used this kit to make collages and artist trading cards.  I’m certain I can use this kit to make collages, drawings and paintings absolutely anywhere: plane (sans scissors of course), train, automobile, in the park, you name it.

Pictured below are one of the collages and one of the ATC’s I made on my trip using the kit.  All images and papers came from the magazines I read while traveling.  The art turned out not too shabby and I’m looking forward to creating more mobile art on my upcoming trips this year!
