Asian influenced mail art

The recent Chinese New Year celebrations prompted me to simply share a trio of my Asian inspired handmade postcards.

The “Han” postcard is named for the Chinese Han Dynasty that ruled China for four centuries and the “Yuan” card is named for the Yuan Dynasty.

The image of an idyllic pagoda and bridge scene on the “Han” card was rescued from a cruise brochure received in the mail.  I embellished with torn paper scraps and washi tape.

The “Yuan” and “Xiao” postcards I created for a postcard swap with a Chinese lantern theme. Each card uses images from magazines and is embellished with torn paper and dye inks.  The pink flowers on the bottom corner of the “Xiao” card were fussy cut from patterned paper.
